### Exciting News from oo3dmodels!
We are delighted to announce the upcoming release of the Blackpool 1:76 Scale OMO Tram, now updated to Version 2! While the initial release of this tram never happened, we have been working diligently to perfect the model, incorporating many significant changes and improvements.
### What's Changed in Version 2?
**1. Total Redesign of the Floor:**
The floor has been completely redesigned to enhance structural integrity and realism, providing a more accurate representation of the tram.
**2. Alteration for the Bogies:**
The bogies have been slightly reduced in size for a more precise scale fit and improved functionality, enhancing the overall look of the tram.
**3. Correct Placement of Front Doors:**
Thanks to @Blackpool Tram for pointing this out, the front doors are now correctly placed. How I missed this initially, I’ll never know, but it's fixed now!
**4. Redesigned Roof Tower:**
The tower that supports the power pole on the roof has been redesigned for a more authentic look, adding to the tram’s overall realism.
**5. Redesigned Doors and Tidier Underside:**
The doors have also been redesigned, and the underside of the tram has been tidied up for a cleaner and more detailed finish.
### History of the Blackpool OMO Tram
The Blackpool OMO (One-Man Operated) trams were introduced in the 1970s as a modernization effort for the Blackpool tramway. These trams were converted from older English Electric Railcoaches and were designed to be operated by a single driver without the need for a conductor, improving efficiency and reducing operating costs.
The OMO trams featured a distinctive design with larger cabs and improved passenger access. They served the Blackpool tramway for several decades before being retired from regular service. Today, they are remembered fondly by tram enthusiasts and are an iconic part of Blackpool's transportation history.
### Acknowledgements
A special thank you to @Blackpool Tram for pointing out the incorrect placement of the front doors and providing ongoing support and feedback. Your input has been invaluable in making these crucial improvements.
