Surprising how such a simple change makes it look so different and- allowing for the perspective view- how it now resembles the photo much better. Doing fine work Martin, when done this could easily echo and complement the Little Bispham station if the tower was left off! Incidently is that due for listing soon? Haven't seen any more about it since the last prints.
OK so i think we are closing in on the finish line on this model now ... well i hope so lol, below is pictures of the model i have smoothed out the front and back panels, and i have also added a little decor touch to the top of the body seen in last picture (they are only little things the that on the original shelter helped support the roof), but i think they are a nice touch even tho when the roof is on you cannot really see them.
Martin
Love that 'Deco' touch on the eaves, they're a good substitute for those iron brackets and helpful for supporting the roof too.
Think this is pretty much nailed down now, unless you can alter the window arrangement? Otherwise it's good to go, going, gone!
@ianwest195 and anyone else here the pictures of the shelter with added bottom windows, looking side by side with the photo it looks good ????
Thank You
Martin
Those roof supports do look nice from this angle
Now we're cookin', that is just sooo nice- anyone with a steady hand and a sharp blade could trim the windows themselves now if it mattered enough. Painted up and glazed either version will look the part. Lights here are not a question- the clock was powered obviously but probably had festoons outside so an internal source was not a priority. Somebody may know different but that would require a hollow tower with perspex(?) dials, a hole to allow leeching to the body cavity and I doubt a battery feed would be practical without a very long lead. Suspect it would look truly eyecatching in the dark but what a lot of trouble first!
Very well done Martin, time plus patience has definitely equalled success.
