Just a thought fella but I think you need another one of the 3D printers for the extra work and also that way you have a backup, I know they are not cheap I will keep my eye out for one on my travels you never know.

@chris Yeah I have been thinking that for a while now that i need a second decent printer I do still have my older one but that cant do the detail that this one can and the build bed is much smaller too it is 5 years old lol.

@chris Thank you Chris for your kind comments, and ok man I will let you know when they are released, yes the printer is working overtime but that is what it is there for.

Your skills are improving by leaps and bounds Martin, this one will really be noticed, makes an option to trundle a few railway wagons down the line 'out of hours'; Wonder if it's possible to squeeze one of those light fittings in with the battery tucked under the rear end? Not that we're asking the impossible obviously... 🤫

@ianwest195 , thank you for your kind words, Your the second person to ask about a lit version @Blackpool Tram, asked that too, I have said no for now but its a project that i will keep in mind... The main issue is the red lamp been too tiny, there is place in the cab for a battery holder and the main lights would be the same as the grinder tram so that side yes it could be done, but if i am going to do a lit version i need to get my head around the red lamp and think just how it can be done.

talking of a few wagons Ian i am in process of doing the works wagons for blackpool tramways that is the small flatbed for a wire drum i am also doing the small ballast wagon too i may do the crane too but i have to try getting my head around the crane section.

Thank you

Are you a vampire too? 'cos we must both have red eyes by now... said it before, great minds etc.; Now then, that 'guards' lamp: If it too is provided with a small central hole plus a red 'jewel' lens then either (a) a short length of fibre optic fed from beside the main led and into the back of said lens to draw directly from that light source or (b) provide said hole but forego the other main light to use the second led as the illuminator might do the trick? (Of course if option ((a)) proved practical then both main lights can still be lit).

Agreed the tower is a conundrum being so complex in design   but   this may be the clue- mould it in two sections being either a tight, friction fit that could be pulled up / pushed down (e.g. think of the older Matchbox fire engines etc) or a looser fit with 'push' spring action (a small one might just be hidden behind that framework?); Mould one ladder section onto the bottom frame, slot the separate second one through ladder guides and glue it to the upper frame- as the tower moves so would the ladder for effect?

Rough ideas yes but even without lighting this tram was often used to run railway wagon 'trains' along the network at night so a handful driven by a 'powered' van would look good (Dapol made two for Blackpool companies in fact). The list of possibilities just keeps growing & growing & growing... sleep soundly!

@ianwest195 .... LOL is that why i cannot sleep at night i am a vampire lol,

Yes the tower is a total different beast with all the angles FDM printing does not do that well at all angles going up on a vertical slope that project is a future one as or when i get into resin printing, now for the wagons

I have three ongoing which i will give a sneak preview of,

First the ballast wagon,

Very impressive, noted the inclusion of the correct coupling method on the underframes- in different circumstances it may have been possible to create adapted bodies for proprietary wagons- but the time frame is too late for my use as the shunter wasn't included until late 1940's; Oh well that's fine though as I can just employ it for the coal wagon runs to Thornton, should look good too in red with black & white lining: wonder if it also ran wartime ammunition vans for the infantry training?

@ianwest195, Thank you for your kind words its never too late and the ballast wagon and the cable drum wagon have the same base so other tops could be designed. And yes you could use the ballast wagon as a coal truck altho it would not be a deep coal truck has blackpool ballast truck is very shallow... but again the sides could be made larger so it could be used has a coal truck. These are still under development so no its not too late in the day.
